The upgrade of Dwight Reserve North aims to improve the recreation facilities whilst capitalising on the existing attributes of the reserve as outlined below:
Council received $400,000 towards the upgrade of the reserve from the State Government following the 2022 election as part of an election commitment.
Stage one of the project was included in Council’s 2022/23 Annual Business Plan. Council developed a concept plan and undertook community engagement from 19 October - 15 November 2022 to help prioritise which parts of the upgrade to deliver as part of stage one. The feedback will also be used to help inform priorities for future stages.
Funding for future stages will be incorporated into Councils strategic planning process.
The concept plan will be delivered as a multistage project and Council has used community feedback to help inform the scope of works for the first stage.
The proposed scope of works for stage one will include:
Council will deliver the first stage under a Design and Construct contract which means that the final scope of works may be subject to change. This allows Council to obtain the best value for money and maximise the grant funding allocation.
