Council is preparing a new Sports Facility Strategy – a long-term planning document that identifies facility requirements for sport in Playford and provides guidance on how to best respond to changes in sport in our community. To develop the strategy, we are asking what you think is important when it comes to sports facilities in Playford.

We are excited that the Playford Sports Facility Strategy is now finalised and ready for viewing in the document library. 

This engagement is now closed and we would like to thank everyone for their involvement - whether it participate in our workshops or complete the survey! Our next step is to analyse all the wonderful feedback our community has provided.

Help shape City of Playford's Sports Facility Strategy

The City of Playford is preparing a new Sports Facility Strategy – a long-term planning document that will not only identify facility requirements for sport in Playford, but provide guidance on how to best respond to potential changes such as participation rates and trends in sport. 

The strategy will look at how our existing playing fields, courts and club rooms may be impacted by trends and what new or upgraded facilities need to be considered. 

We want to hear from our community about the issues and opportunities for our sports facilities and your ideas for the future. Your thoughts and ideas will be used to help shape the draft Sports Facility Strategy.

We have developed a Discussion Paper available in the document library to the right, which is a good place to start if you’re looking to understand more about sports facilities in Playford, why we plan for sports facilities and trends in sports. 

Community engagement is open from Tuesday 07 June until Friday 08 July, 2022.

  • 07 June - 08 July, 2022: Community Engagement

    A chance for the community to share their views on sports facilities in Playford. Engagement is open from Tuesday 07 June to Friday 08 July, 2022.
  • July - August 2022: Evaluate feedback and develop a What We Heard Report

    We will gather all input from the engagement period and develop a What We Heard report.
  • To Be Determined: Community engagement on draft strategy

    A chance for the community to review and provide feedback on the draft Sports Facility Strategy.
  • To Be Determined: Finalise draft plan

    After collating and analysing feedback on the draft strategy, finalise the strategy for Council endorsement.
  • To Be Determined: Council Endorsement

    Council to endorse the final Sports Facility Strategy.

Engagement runs from Tuesday 07 June until Friday 08 July, 2022. All feedback needs to be recieved by 5pm on Friday 08 July, 2022.

The input gathered through community feedback will help Council prepare the draft Sports Facility Strategy which will be released for public consultation at a later date.
