In accordance with the Roads (Opening and Closing) Act 1991, the City of Playford is proposing to close a portion of road as outlined below.
The sections of road proposed for closure are marked ‘A & B’ on Preliminary Plan 25/0014. You can view or download a copy of the plan from the Document Library on this page. More detailed information, including the allotment descriptions, is available in the Public Notice also located in the Document Library.
The proposed road closures affecting portions of Legoe Road and Tippets Bridge Road are intended to facilitate the construction of stormwater infrastructure required for the Riverlea Park development.
As part of the drainage plan, stormwater will be diverted via the unconstructed section of Tippets Bridge Road to the formed portion of Legoe Road, then through a proposed drainage channel on adjoining land to Thompson Creek, located south of Camerlo Road, and ultimately to the designated outfall further south.
These road segments are to be repurposed as a dedicated drainage reserve, remaining under Council ownership to support long-term management. This updated approach also resolves several complexities associated with the previously approved stormwater management strategy.

All submissions must be received by 17 August 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
Next steps
Once the consultation period closes, all submissions will be reviewed and considered. A report will then be presented to Council before a final decision is made on the proposed road closure.
If you make a submission, you will be asked to attend a Council meeting to support your objection or request in person. Council will notify you of the meeting details.
