Land Revocation proposal - what you need to know

The City of Playford has taken one step in the process of considering the land revocation of five allotments along Main North Road to create opportunities for development opportunities and enhanced open greenspaces, active landscaped areas and safer public pathways.

Community consultation closed on 14 July, followed by Council's decision to apply to the Minister seeking approval to proceed with the land revocation process.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 194 of the Local Government Act 1999, the City of Playford is considering the revocation of the Community Land classification over Allotment 52 Certificate of Title Volume 6227 Folio 219 as identified in Deposited Plan 120716.

The City of Playford proposes to undertake this revocation to create one or two allotments for development to be presented to the open market for the purpose of selling the land, a sensory garden, and a new public road between Playford Boulevard and Prince Charles Street. While the new allotment(s) created will be considered for disposal, the road and sensory garden will remain in Council ownership. A vibrant Central Business District (CBD) is a community aspiration and described as an integrated retail, commercial and entertainment hub in the Playford Community Vision 2043. The proposal to revoke a parcel of land is cornerstone to activating next steps that will bring us closer to enabling that community vision.
