This engagement is now closed and we would like to thank everyone for their input! All feedback will be taken to Council for Elected Members consideration on the 23 August 2022 before making any further decisions about the by-laws.

What are by-laws?
By-laws are local laws established by councils to deal with issues specific to their community. For this reason, one council area can have different by-laws from the next.
Covering everyday community issues relating to pets, signs, bird scaring devices to public land – by-laws allow Council to respond to these issues to protect the safety and comfort of residents and businesses.
By-laws complement Council’s responsibilities and powers under both state and federal legislation.
Why is the review being undertaken?
Councils are required to review their by-laws every seven years to ensure they are still relevant to the community and are in line with new state and federal legislation. The City of Playford’s current by-laws will expire on 1 January 2023.
What are the proposed by-laws?
City of Playford has proposed changes to seven by-laws and looking to introduce an eighth to regulate waste management. These by-laws are:
